Fourth of July Fireworks

Aloha family and friends.  I hope it's starting to cool down a little back home.  I hear its been miserable.  Like I said earlier, I didn't do anything too exciting for the holiday since I worked, but I did go to the fireworks on the beach in Waikiki.  I wanted to try to capture some on film.  I was batting about .250 (apparently fireworks do not go off on a regularly 'lighted schedule' which creates some exposure difficulties).  Some of the good ones are below.  Mahalo for looking!

  1. Those are some amazing photographs, Topher! You're really going to have to give me and Danielle some serious lessons when we get down there!!
See you in less than a month! :)

    1. Thanks CJ: Not to worry. It's not hard, you just actually have to use your camera! Ha. I'll be seeing you in two weeks so bring your camera and get ready. You can even try your hand at fireworks if you want (seriously, Hilton does a big fireworks show every Friday night in Waikiki...it's a little overkill if you actually live here....) See you both soon!

  3. Well, it's no City of Edgewood display, but I guess when you're in Hawaii you just have to make do!
Seriously awesome and you photographed them beautifully!

    1. Well, coming from a serious photographer as yourself, I'll take that as a huge compliment! Speaking of the City of Edgewood display, I was just recounting the other day when they messed them up that one year. Where you in town for it? They had some kind of malfunction and set them all off at the same time. It was a big grand finale all at one time. It was telling the story because the same thing happened at a big show this year (San Diego I think).

    1. Hi Fav. Tally: Good to hear from you. What have you been doing with your summer? It'll be time to head back to school really soon. Remember to add "germ-x" to your 'back-to-school' list. ;)
